are dedicated to promoting a people-centered development
through the United Nations.
Impact policy formation within the UN ECOSOC bodies,
based on the principles of the 1995 Copenhagen World Summit
for Social Development.
Support the goals of the 1995 World Summit for Social Development: eradicating poverty and promoting employment and social integration, in partnership with people living in poverty.
Participate in the annual UN Commission for Social Development,
as well as in other UN processes dealing with issues of social development, such as the High Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development, Commission on the Status of Women, Finance for Development Process, and other functions of the Economic and Social Council.
COMMISSION ON SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT: CIVIL SOCIETY FORUM
On 3 February 2015, a day prior to the opening of the 53rd Session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development (CSocD53), 4 to 13 February 2015, a Civil Society Forum (CSF) will be convened at United Nations Headquarters. The Forum is hosted jointly by UNDESA-DSPD, the NGO Committee for Social Development and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The outcome of the Forum will be presented at the first plenary meeting of the Commission, immediately following the introduction of the Priority Theme.
